I cringe a bit at the name 'ADD Fest', which is neither sensitive towards sufferers of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, nor is it even the correct acronym (it was renamed in 1987, long before this). But for a few years I was forever associated with this annual local 'fest', and if anyone in Pittsburgh remembers me at all, it may be for this over anything else I was part of.
Actually, the whole idea was my then-flatmate Dan's, and he actually really took the lead in organising it, and also designed this flyer. The goal was to have a record release show for his band, following his usual concept of including the 7" to all who attend the show, which is a great idea that I don't know anyone else ever doing. I forget how this happened, but probably it was just that so many other bands (almost all in the hardcore and punk genre) were wanting to play, that he thought about having them all play, but sharing equipment to minimise setup time, and having no one play for longer than 15 minutes.
The show, or at least the concept was a hit. The lineup actually changed a bit before it happened, as the next poster will indicate.
