During my postgraduate degree I took a great seminar called 'Writing the Disaster', taught by Professor David Pascoe, that investigated various forms of disaster literature over the 20th Century (from Wells to Vonnegut to Ballard).  I presented during the 'Memories of the Future' seminar, which covered Resnais' Hiroshima, mon amour and Marker's La Jetée...

Pierrot le fou is being screened at Orion (National Audiovisual Archive of Finland), this Wednesday, at 7 PM, and I THINK Anna Karina is going to be there in person.

I am really bummed to hear that Bruce Conner has died. I first read about Conner when he was interviewed in the RE/Search Pranks book, a book that has vastly influenced me... and I first saw A Movie in my Experimental Cinema class - the same class where I saw pretty much everything else that I love and revere (see this site's iconography, purloined from Robert Nelson).
